GROUP ALETHEIA BREATHWORK
Changing the way you breathe, changes the way you feel.
Group Aletheia Breathwork is done in a safe, confidential and intentional environment and utilizes the power of the group to effect deep, personal change. The individual work is ideal in deepening personal awareness, identifying core patterns and anchoring an open, healthy breath in the body over the long term. Ideally, both approaches are used to fully incorporate the power of this amazing tool, which can transform our lives.
As we become familiar with the process over the course of a session, and increasingly, through repeated sessions, we are able to relax and trust the process more, releasing deeper emotional and mental beliefs and patterns, and accessing greater expansiveness & joy.
This practice of conscious breathing is a deeply healing modality supportive of releasing accumulated tension,
stress & held emotion from the body, releasing limiting beliefs and re-connecting us with ease, joy and flow states.

What to expect in a group Aletheia Breathwork session:
You will learn a specific method of conscious connected breathing (CCB). CCB is a continuous, flowing breath in which we are encouraged to allow the inhalation to flow into the exhalation & vice versa, without pause. This flowing, relaxed, diaphragmatic breath is the focus of our awareness.
After some time breathing in this way, physiological changes take place. This may be experienced as tingling, or shifts in temperature, or other bodily sensations. We're encouraged to notice and allow the sensations, and continue to breathe and allow the breathe to flow freely.
As we continue, our brainstate shifts from predominantly delta, through alpha and sometimes into theta. These are states in which the body has the ability to heal & repair. That may mean that some emotions arise, or sensations in the body. Sometime tears come. Sometime laughter. Anger can arise. What we're encouraged to do is allow what is arising through continuing to breathe, while feeling the sensation or emotion as it arises and moves through the body.
Many of us will experience the mind wanting to control the experience and 'tell a story about what's happening' and we're encouraged to notice this, and bring our attention back to what is actually happening in the moment with the body & the breath.
The idea is to allow the body's wisdom to take care of undigested or unintegrated emotions that may arise. This may be a very internal experience, or 'sensational" (feeling sensations of warmth, coolness, tingling in the body, for example), memories may surface, or you may feel compelled to release emotion through vocal toning or moving and shaking the body. Pleasant emotions & sensations are also experiences. Insights and experiences of 'oneness' may be evoked.
As your facilitator, I hold space for you to undertake this process in your own unique way. Each person, and each practice of breathwork is unique. You may feel joy or sadness, bliss or union, or all of the above. Either blissful or difficult feelings may arise to be processed. When we practice with a willingness to open to whatever arises for us and remain dedicated to remaining present, and continue to engage the technique of breath, integration happens naturally, and we embody greater wholeness.
A music playlist is crafted for the sessions, which may be evocative. I offer gentle acupressure-like touch to help bring attention to our unique breath patterns & areas of holding, and I also offer positive affirmations that can be both evocative & supportive. I may also encourage the whole group to "tone" which helps open the breath and release energy.
It is common after a breathwork session for participants to feel lighter, more relaxed and present, freer to express themselves and more able to access the well of creativity, joy & love that is the essence of our true nature. Aletheia Breathwork is a form of mental-emotional hygiene, that keeps our 'energy body' clear of past clutter, so that we feel more aligned, present, and clear... essentially, more "ourselves".
